About

“In the beginning of a change the patriot is a scarce man, and brave, and hated and scorned. When his cause succeeds, the timid join him, for then it costs nothing to be a patriot.” ~ Mark Twain ~

Introduction:

I’m pretty simple. I’m married, have two children, a dog and a little bit of land. I am a flag waving American who appreciates his freedoms.

My Goals:

I have three goals I would like my stories to achieve.

Quality

Every book and story I put my name on, I feel is a good story. It might not be the next “Lord of the Rings” or “Star Wars”, but I will not write a story just to put a story out. I think we all have seen books written or movies made that appear to piggyback off the success of a prior story. When done, the result sometimes gives off the feeling of a money grab in which the quality is greatly diminished. I promise any story I write will only be because I feel the story is truly good. You may or may not like it, but I promise it is genuine and not a simple cash grab.

Clean and Moral

All my books will be clean and will have some moral behind it. By “clean” I mean no foul language and little to no graphic violence. Yes, a story may have a character who gets hurt or injured, but I do not see a reason to get any more descriptive than what is necessary for the story. I likewise feel vulgarity takes away from a story, and although it is a reality in life, it is one aspect I am willing to sacrifice.

Real

Minus having no foul language and little to no graphic violence, I want my stories to feel real within the confines of the story itself. By this I mean, unlike in some of The Brothers Grimm Fairy Tales, not every good guy wins in the end. So, what I want anyone that might read one of my books to feel is a heightened sense things might not go the way they want. This is life and unfortunately that happen. As I’m sure you have noticed with a lot of stories, it is not how it ends, but how the main character gets from point A to point B… with the protagonist somehow coming out on top. This to me takes away from half the story because you generally know the good guy will win. Thusly the story becomes about the journey and not the ending. I want my stories to be about both. To achieve this, I will be writing some stories where the hero doesn’t save the day. With the possibility of failure, I hope my stories heighten the readers suspense to create a greater reading experience. Unless of course you read the ending first.
